My STARE
mid-Sept 2005, driving home from work – epl
The day I didn’t take my medication
some blurry day in 2005 – epl
Reflections on a new job,
in commemoration of the wait for supplies:
Nameplate remains blank
Proclaiming nothing of me
Name still on order
(Feb. 2000)
I Want A Toy Robot For Christmas
slave mechanisms
doing the master’s bidding
vacuum tubes humming
shiny tin plating
pincers and hot antennae
windup feet scurry
Okra Haiku
fuzzy pods outside
Hibiscus Esculentus
slime and seeds inside
(my toes in the earth)
the sun on my neck
harvesting before mature,
green pods for gumbo
-early ’97 and Aug ’97
MORE TO COME… later.. Probably
more to come, (continuing excuse, since 1997) – epl
Small children in winter
Fascinated by warm breath
Huddle watching steam
1996?

And took each other’s freedom
But the holes are filled with Love
